Building a career in:

Strategy✨Communications✨Brand ✨Content

👋 Hi, I'm Ruby!

Hi, I’m Ruby. Thank you for exploring my portfolio! I work across content, communications, brand and social media, with a particular interest in strategy and how ideas are shaped, communicated and understood.

With a Multimedia Journalism MA and a Law LLB, I bring together research, storytelling and clear thinking. I’m especially interested in what makes people pay attention, what builds trust, and how strong content can support a bigger brand direction.

My experience spans content creation, email and social campaigns, and early stage brand work. Across this, I’ve helped turn complex or unclear ideas into content that feels clear, consistent and purposeful.

I’m particularly interested in roles where I can contribute to content strategy, brand thinking and creative planning, while continuing to grow within marketing.

💌 Content & Email Marketing Internship

I completed a 6-month Content and Email Marketing Internship at Bron Yr Aur Micronation, where I introduced and developed the ‘Beyond Borders’ newsletter from scratch, shaping it into a structured, content-led communications channel that combined written content with social integration and storytelling.

This contributed to a 32 per cent increase in subscribers, alongside strong growth in social media reach and engagement, helping turn passive audiences into more active and engaged community members.

My work focused on creating content with clear direction and purpose, using audience insight to improve what wasn’t working and build something more consistent and engaging over time. Through this work, I also secured regional news coverage in Cambrian News, driven by the newsletter and wider email marketing strategy.

You can read more about the newsletter in the Case Studies section of my portfolio, view content I created in the Marketing and Socials section, and explore press coverage in the Journalism and Media section.

Ruby brings a unique skillset combining strong creativity, exceptional organisational ability, and a sharp instinct for getting to the core of complex challenges.

👥 Digital Marketing Traineeship Programme

This year, I completed a competitive traineeship with Agent Academy, working on a live client brief focused on early careers marketing strategy for Chiesi, a global B Corp pharmaceutical company.

As part of the project, I collaborated with 20+ industry stakeholders from organisations including Size?, MP & Co and Tigerbond, contributing to the development and shaping of an early careers attraction approach in a highly competitive and changing market.

The work involved conducting market research, analysing competitor and best practice examples, and building audience personas to better understand what early careers candidates value, including their motivations, expectations and barriers to entry.

From this, we explored how organisations can communicate more effectively with Gen Z audiences, focusing on authenticity, purpose and clear development pathways, and how these ideas translate into content, messaging and employer branding.

Alongside the client project, I completed a digital marketing curriculum covering content strategy, SEO and emerging search approaches such as AEO and GEO, as well as user experience and user interface principles, campaign planning and the role of AI in content distribution and personalisation.

This gave me a broader understanding of how strategy, content and channels work together, and strengthened my ability to approach marketing through both audience insight and communication, thinking about not just what a brand says, but how and why it connects with the people it’s trying to reach.

🚀 Current Freelance Projects

I’m currently working as a Social Media Manager on a freelance volunteering project supporting the launch of The Addiction Economy personal brand across Instagram and TikTok.

The project is led collaboratively by myself and a graphic designer, where we are responsible for shaping the overall direction, from initial idea development through to content creation and execution.

My role focuses on structuring the project from the ground up, starting with interpreting core ideas, developing key messages and refining them through client input before turning them into a clear brief. From there, I guide the direction of the work, including tone, content approach and how complex, research driven topics are translated into engaging, accessible content.

This is supported by shared research and competitor analysis, which informs both the strategic direction and the content we produce for the Instagram and TikTok launch.

I also manage client communication, acting as the main point of contact to ensure alignment, gather feedback and keep the project moving forward. In addition, I organise and manage the workflow in Notion, structuring tasks, timelines and responsibilities to keep everything clear and on track.

I contribute to content development, ideation and execution, working closely with design to bring ideas to life.

🔍 What I'm Looking for...

I’m particularly interested in early career roles across content marketing, social media, brand and communications, especially where there is room to combine creative ideas with strategic thinking, ideally in a purpose-led environment

The work I’m most drawn to involves research, audience understanding, content planning, writing and shaping how ideas are communicated, not just creating content for the sake of it, but helping make sure it is clear, purposeful and aligned with a wider brand direction.

Ruby has been highly engaged, proactive and professional...She produced high-quality, engaging content and showed a natural talent for communicating ideas in a clear, creative and authentic way. She would be a real asset to any team she joins.
